NEUROSCIENCE OF RAPID RESOLUTION THERAPY
MEMORY RECONSOLIDATION APPLIED
Presented by Mary Bowles, MA, LMFT, RRT, MIAAN
5 CONTINUING EDUCATION HOURS
Rapid Resolution Therapy® (RRT) is one of the most effective, compassionate, brain-based, and counter-intuitively successful treatment approaches to memory reconsolidation. RRT does not require a client to relive their trauma or stress. Instead, through the application of memory reconsolidation components, neuroplasticity takes over to change neural networks so emotional responses can no longer result from a memory activation.
This training addresses the neuroscience underlying the rapid transformational change that occurs with Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT). Memory reconsolidation, the mechanism for change in RRT, will be understood through actual video case reviews and other historic and easy to understand concepts. Through this presentation, you’ll experience clarity about why RRT is so effective, what the necessary components are for transformational change to occur, and ways to enhance the healing experiences that result from RRT. This training will address historical research by the likes of Ivan Pavlov, Albert Bandura, and Donald Hebb to address how their research made understanding RRT possible. This training will also use neuroscience to dispel some of the long held beliefs about what makes therapy effective.
This live training will include live lecture, filmed demonstrations, and presentations which will ensure understanding of the material and enhance the application of RRT techniques.
Upon completion of this training, you will be able to:
Identify the necessary components for successful memory reconsolidation
Identify each component of the brain as it relates to regulation and dysregulation.
Describe each stress related part of the brain’s relationship with the stress response.
Discuss the concept of approach and avoid states in the context or emotions and emotional memories.
Distinguish successful memory reconsolidation from unsuccessful.
Redefine “normal” to remove trained need for pathologizing.
Discuss useful measures for determining success.
Analyze somatic awareness and recognize a mild individual somatization.
Identify mismatch, neural activation, pairing, ghostbusting, and the application of neuropsychotherapeutic needs in actual RRT cases.
Explain the concepts of meaning, inarguable mismatch, and emotional learning.
