Training Schedule, Location and Registration

This 5-hour workshop is offered in a convenient one-day format to accommodate even the busiest practitioners’ schedules. The training begins at 10:00 am and concludes at 4:00 pm. A lunch break will be provided from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.

Michael Cortina is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Illinois and Indiana, a Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (LCAC) in Indiana, and a Certified Practitioner of Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT). Michael has appeared as a guest speaker discussing RRT on The Lakeshore Radio, The Veterans Views Program on WJOB Radio, and during a news segment on Lakeshore Public Television. Additionally, his work was featured on the front page of The Times Newspaper in June 2013.  Michael was the keynote speaker presenting on RRT at the 4th annual Faces of Suicide presents the Faces of Trauma conference at Indiana University Northwest and the sole presenter on treating trauma for the 2016 Annual Spring Conference sponsored by the Indiana Association of Addiction Professionals. 

Mr. Cortina practices an unconventional and tradition-challenging approach to psychotherapy.  Clients have traveled from as far as Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma, West Virginia, New York, and Massachusetts to receive a Rapid Resolution Therapy session with Mr. Cortina.  He provides trainings introducing other mental health professionals to Rapid Resolution Therapy.  

He is currently the Director of Outpatient Services South for Regional Mental Health Center in Merrillville, IN and in private practice in Oak Brook and Chicago, IL.  During the past 20 years Michael has worked in a variety of clinical and leadership positions including adolescent residential, adolescent independent living program, child, adolescent, and adult inpatient, adult partial hospitalization program, emergency services, EAP, outpatient settings, and private practice.


Cancellation Policy:
A full refund is available up to seven days prior to the training. EARN 5 CONTINUING EDUCATION HOURS

Participation in this training is restricted to licensed mental health and medical professionals, registered interns and graduate students in accredited mental health and medical training programs.

Upon completion of this training, licensed psychologists, clinical social workers, mental health counselors, professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, addiction counselors and nurses will receive a certificate demonstrating they have completed training in PTSD, Sexual Trauma and Childhood Abuse and have earned 5 continuing education contact hours.

This training meets the standards for approval of continuing education courses set forth by the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling regarding the qualifications necessary for mental health professionals to practice hypnosis (Rule 64B4-6.002) including the required 50 hours of instruction. This training program also counts toward obtaining certification by the National Board for Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists and the Institute for Rapid Resolution Therapy. Licensed psychologists, clinical social workers, mental health counselors, professional counselors and marriage and family therapists earn continuing education contact hours for each training.

This program is approved by the National Association of Social Workers (Approval #886445677-0) for 5 continuing education contact hours.
