The Second Edition of the book Effective Treatments for PTSD: Practice Guidelines from the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (2009) has just been released. A Chapter has been devoted to Hypnosis as an effective treatment for PTSD. “The consistency of clinical reports and observations going back for almost two centuries, coupled with some controlled studies suggest that hypnosis is an effective and safe adjunctive procedure in the treatment of PTSD and other posttraumatic conditions” (p. 447).
