DAY ONE

8:30 AM – 10:30 AM

Welcome introduction, including but not limited to review of prevalence of effects and rates of sexual abuse, childhood abuse and PTSD.

Introduction to what makes trauma-work so valuable, compare and contrast why methods that re-traumatize can trigger emotions and nervous systems and reasons to keep client grounded and present. 

What clinical hypnosis is and is not.  Myths and misconceptions.  Review of professional definitions.

Is hypnosis dangerous?  Review of research and findings of risks and dangers.

Hypnosis and mental illness.  Contraindications and abreaction.

Ethics regarding hypnosis and informed consent.

DVD demonstration of transformational communication and hypnotherapeutic process of RRT to treat physical, emotional and sexual abuse.

1 Hour Dinner Break

Review and large group discussion including but not limited to what was noticed in the DVD around connection between the therapist and client, and effective languaging. Reviewing emotion and how our minds work on a conscious and subconscious level.  Understanding aspects of the subconscious mind creating thoughts, feelings/emotions, and behaviors. How meaning our minds attach to an event can exacerbate emotions and form negative beliefs. Discussion of what makes communication transformational. Specific effect driven language shifting mind towards what client and therapist intend.

DAY TWO

 8:00 AM – 10:30 AM

Words and meanings related to hypnotherapy, rapid resolution therapy and transformational communication.

What hypnosis can influence. 

Presentation of over 20 different mind/body concepts and processes including, but not limited to, conversational induction, instant induction, self-hypnosis and guided imagery.  How to affect self-concept and changing perceived identity.

How to use effect-driven communication to establish connection and show understanding with clients.

How to use invisible commands and declaratives, tonality and pacing to deepen trance state.

Live demonstration with participants focused on effect-driven communication and pinpointing traumatic events that require resolution.

6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Structured break-outs and guided practice sessions focused on effect driven communication for experiential learning and skill building.  Participants will break out in groups of 2 or 3 people using their manuals, one person will pick a topic to address and using the tools learned so far within the group will do the processes with the other participant-a client/ therapist setting with a third party to assist with the tools learned. This teaches participants to learn thru reading, doing and experiencing what they have learned. Focus will be on connection, languaging, education of how the mind works, baseline visual metaphor, shared intention and symbolic activator.

DAY THREE

8:00 AM – 10:30 AM

What is emotional trauma?

Learn to pinpoint the traumatic events that require resolution in order that desired emotional and behavioral changes take place using “Ghost Busting and Incantation for the Ghost” to eliminate the negative influence from past events.

How to Protect the client from abreaction, staying present and grounded

DVD presentation of how to clear anxiety and panic with Dr. Connelly

Discussion and questions from DVD around techniques used, teaching what causes mind’s response to a perceived threat-anxiety; what happens in the body and autonomic nervous system. Discussion about past events (memories) stored, meaning and subconscious/unconscious feelings. Teaching and discussion of disassembly-separating out sensations, indifference, use of metaphors and playfulness.

Steps on how to use disassembly to begin to clear anxiety and panic.

5:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Live demonstrations with participants demonstrating multiple tools to reduce or eliminate the effects of anxiety.

6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Structured break-outs and guided practice sessions focused on anxiety for experiential learning and skill building (refer to day 2 breakout format) including the section within the manual on the anxiety protocol of creating sensations in the body through visualization then learning to de-escalate and empower participant to over-come anxiety. Participants will be working with real life situations that have caused mild anxiety. This time participants will include accelerators to ground and shift subconscious mind.

DAY FOUR

8:00 AM – 10:30 AM

Discussion regarding what makes grief frozen.  Discussion regarding thoughts about prevention of loved ones’ death, blame, continued thoughts about suffering, loving feelings not accessed, something is incomplete and mind has attached a value to what is threatened.

DVD demonstration on how to deal with frozen grief using hypnotherapeutic process. 

Discussion on how grief can get frozen, objections to being grief free, grief tied to love/connection, grief being caused by subconscious mind triggering to take action to connect. Teach sequence, review internal geography/perceived identity in terms of grief. Create feelings of connection. Hypnotherapeutic process using accelerators to shift the way subconscious mind has been feeling and reacting to calm and reconnect.

Break down of steps to clear and increase connection to loved one.

Second DVD demonstration on how to deal with frozen grief using hypnotherapeutic process.

Live demonstrations with participants focused on grief and reducing its psycho and physiological effects.

6:15 PM – 7:15 PM

1 Hour Dinner Break (Not Included in Contact Hours)

7:15 PM – 9:00 PM

Structured break-outs and guided practice sessions focused on grief resolution for experiential learning and skill building. (Refer to day 2 breakout format) including practicing the protocol in the manual for grief resolution. Educating client to what causes feelings of grief to increase feelings of connection.  Building upon the sequence of RRT to add in ghost busing to reduce and eliminate triggers from a specific event or death that caused the grief.

DAY FIVE

How to clear substance craving.  Why does mind have craving?

DVD presentation of clearing substance craving with Dr. Connelly.  Q&A regarding DVD, eliminate interest in using alcohol with someone in recovery to prevent relapse, adult vs child question-connect client with the result vs. instant gratification, use of specific language, teaching coding or pairing the drug with something negative or out of the question, teach how to check the baseline to see shifts in cravings or appeal.

Learn steps to deactivate cravings.

The purpose of pain.  Use of hypnosis to heal mind-body while decreasing pain.

Live demonstration with participants focused on eliminating or reducing the psycho and physiological effects of cravings.

3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Structured break-outs and guided practice sessions focused on addiction and relapse prevention for experiential learning and skill building

(Refer to day 2 breakout format) Participants will go thru the RRT sequence together from start to finish one being the client and one the therapist then switching roles. Understanding what caused person to use, creating a baseline, model, shifting desire with negative metaphors of results, coding and merging, directive and hypnotic language to make drugs or alcohol out of the question. Teaching client the benefits of sobriety. Q&A from experiences of working with each other.
